Continuing in a brief non-travel theme, I have come to terms with the next phase of my life. While my wife and I both figured out our new schedules with me being home more, I have completed steps in starting the next phase. I have completed certification and applied to be a substitute teacher as well as completed a very arduous application process for the VA to become a volunteer. Exciting things. Will be a driver, getting veterans to their appointments, really looking forward to it.

On a different note, we had to move my mother into an assisted living facility. After a fall, she will be unable to get around independently. This will really be the best as she has had my oldest sibling (sister) living with her for 20 years and requires financial help. This will be a good move to get her out and meet people and be involved, she is 83. My oldest sibling will go into HUD housing, and I believe this will be equally as good for her to meet new people.
